Yoga 101
~ If you are new to Yoga or a seasoned practitioner wanting to reconnect with the basic principles of Asanas (postures) Pranayama (breath exploration) and Body Alignment, this class is for you. This class will be very detail oriented and descriptive regarding the fundamental key elements of Yoga. If you have any reservations about starting a Yoga Practice you will feel comfortable and confident in this class.
Gentle Joyful Yoga
~ All levels Appropriate. In this class you will move at a steady pace bringing a deeper connection to y our practice through postural sequencing and breath awareness. This class will include modified Sun Salutations, Standing Postures, Balancing Postures, Seated Postures, Twists and Simple Backbends.
Vinyasa Yoga
~ This class presents a unique blend of postures sequenced to accompany the miraculous breath. The focus is not just on the postures but the journey between each posture. There are intelligent options to modify poses while maintaining the flow of your experience. Students will experience new potentials of strength and flexibility while learning to surrender to what is present in the moment. This class is suitable for everyone.
Classical Hatha Yoga
~ This traditional form of yoga consists of Pranayama (Breathing exercises), Asana (Yoga postures), Relaxation, and Meditation. The focus on the breath allows the mind and body to relax. As the physical body strengthens and opens, energy is released and able to flow. With a regular practice one will achieve optimal health and well being.
Sacred Space Yoga
~ This class will guide the practitioner to develop their own inner Sacred Space. The use of Yoga postures (Asana), Breathing exercises (Pranayama), Relaxation, and other healing tools will prepare the body and mind for meditation. Your inner Sacred Space is a place to connect to your true self for healing and creating what you need in life to feel complete and at peace.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
~ The Ashtanga Yoga postures, as taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, lead to abundant health. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga synchronizes breath and movement through a set series of asanas (postures). This combination creates intense heat, and thereby rids the body of toxins, removes impurities, and creates vibrant physical, mental and spiritual wellness.This physical purification creates mental clarity and awareness in all aspects of our personality. From this place we can make sense of the subtler aspects of the Ashtanga Yoga Philosophy
Kundalini
~ Known as the mother of all yoga, Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness and is known for its powerful healing abilities.
The purpose of Kundalini Yoga is to raise our Kundalini energy, which lays dormant at the base of our spine. It is this energy that facilitates self-healing and increases our state of awareness. Kundalini Yoga incorporates breath work, postures, mantra, and meditation, along with several other tools to awaken our Kundalini energy and draw it up our spine and through our chakras. The goal of all yoga is to reach a higher state of consciousness.
Restorative Yoga
~ Restorative Yoga is a gentle therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body in restful still positions. The focus of the practice is to restore the central nervous system and the internal systems of the body. Restorative Yoga is a soothing and nurturing practice that promotes the effects of conscious relaxation.
